Palmyra’s Kroeger gets promoted to Braves’ High-A affiliate after strong showing at Augusta
PALMYRA, Mo. — Left-handed pitcher Jacob Kroeger is climbing a rung on the Atlanta Braves organizational ladder.
The Palmyra native was assigned Tuesday to the Rome Emperors, the Braves’ High-A affiliate in the South Athletic League. He spent the first two months of the 2025 season pitching for the Augusta GreenJackets, the Single-A affiliate in the Carolina League.
Drafted in 2024 after an All-American career at Maryville University, Kroeger was assigned to Augusta last August and made seven relief appearances at the end of the season. This spring, he was assigned to the GreenJackets from the start, going 2-0 with a 1.86 ERA in 11 appearances.
He struck out 40 and walked 10 over 29 innings.
His last appearance was a June 3 start against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in which he allowed one run and two hits over five innings with seven strikeouts and no walks. Kroeger earned a no-decision as the Woodpeckers tied the game in the ninth and won 6-5 with a run in the 10th.
