Kirn earns third-team All-American honor after guiding Mountaineers to super regional

QUINCY — Griffin Kirn picked up a trio of postseason honors to cap his collegiate pitching career.

The Quincy Notre Dame graduate was named a third-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association after leading the West Virginia baseball team to a 44-16 record and an NCAA Division I super regional berth.

The left-hander, who pitched his first three seasons at Quincy University and was the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2024, fashioned a 5-3 record with one save and a 3.36 ERA for the Mountaineers. He struck out 103 batters in 99 innings.

Kirn also was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region second team as well as the Clemson Regional all-tournament team.
