JWCC’s Wallingford earns all-conference and all-region honors

QUINCY — Jake Wallingford continues to show what he is capable of doing when fully healthy.
The 6-foot-9 forward battled injuries his senior season with the Quincy Notre Dame boys basketball team and his freshman season at John Wood Community, but he played in 26 games this past season and averaged more than 23 minutes per game. The end result was he put together a season worthy of accolades.
Wallingford recently was named to the All-MidWest Athletic Conference first team and to the All-Region 24 team after helping the Trail Blazers win 14 games.
He averaged 13.7 points and 9.1 rebounds, while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range. He also blocked 44 shots.
