Hawks’ Knoblauch picks up GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honor
QUINCY — Quincy University junior setter Makayla Knoblauch has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after helping the QU women’s volleyball team pick up three victories last weekend in the Midwest Region Crossover.
Knoblauch averaged 10.6 assists per set, finishing with 106 assists overall, to go along with five kills and three aces. She was named to the all-tournament team. She had two double-doubles with 38 assists and 21 digs against Northwood and 28 assists and 13 digs against Saginaw Valley State.
She finished the weekend with 41 total digs.
The Indiana State transfer is currently second in the GLVC and 26th in the NCAA with 10.45 assists per set. The Hawks are 11-10 overall and 5-5 in the GLVC while riding a four-match winning streak into matches this weekend at Southwest Baptist and Rockhurst.
