LINCOLN, Neb. — Jessica Keller continues climbing the coaching ladder.

The all-time leading scorer in the history of the Quincy University women’s basketball program is heading to the Big 10 Conference, joining Amy Williams staff with the University of Nebraska women’s basketball program as an assistant coach.

Keller spent the previous five seasons on the staff at Illinois State University, the first three as an assistant coach and the last two as associate head coach. The Redbirds won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title and received an NCAA Tournament bid this past winter.

“She is an outstanding basketball mind with great teaching skills and she has established herself as a person of high character and integrity,” Williams said of Keller in a press release. “She is a tireless worker that fits perfectly with the culture here at Nebraska, and I am excited to have her pouring into the young women in our program.”

Nebraska went 24-9 and played in the NCAA Tournament last winter, which was Williams’ sixth season at the helm.

Keller played at Quincy from 2005-09, was a three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and a second-team All-American as a senior. She was named the GLVC Player of the Year in 2009 and graduated as the all-time leader in points (1,823), steals (324), free throws made (487) and free throws attempted (652).

She began her coaching career at QU as a graduate assistant before serving three seasons as an assistant at Minnesota State-Mankato. Keller became the head coach at Columbia (Mo.) College, where she led the Cougars to a 75-24 record in three seasons.

She joined Kristen Gillespie’s staff at Illinois State in 2017.
