QUINCY — Make it two for two for Dayson Croes.

An All-American infielder while playing for the Quincy University baseball team, Croes recently earned his second all-star honor in his second season playing professional baseball. He was named a starter for the West Division for the American Association of Professional Baseball All-Star Game.

Croes, who is playing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, will participate in the all-star festivities July 22 and 23 at Legends Field in Kansas City, Mo. The all-star game is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 23 and can be streamed for free at aabaseball.tv.

Croes is hitting .324 with nine doubles, one triple, 23 RBIs and 28 runs scored in 51 games. He ranks in the top 10 in the American Association in batting average and hits, and he has committed just two errors defensively.

Last season, Croes was a reserve for the West Division in the All-Star Game and went hitless in one at-bat. He was named the Rookie Position Player of the Year last season when he led the American Association in hits and was fourth in batting average.

Croes is a .341 career hitter since turning pro.
