QUINCY — Dami Adeyinka may need to lean on a pair of former Quincy University teammates to bridge the language barrier as she embarks on a professional basketball career.

The guard signed a contract with Magectias Contra Violencia Genero, one of 28 teams in Liga Femenina 2 de Baloncesto, which is the second division of the women’s professional league in Spain.

Adeyinka, who is from London, played alongside two Spanish natives — Beth Matas Martin and Marta Rivera — during her final season with the Hawks. The 5-foot-4 Adeyinka helped Quincy go 9-20 last winter, the program’s most victories since the 2015-16 season.

Adeyinka started 26 of 29 games, averaging 7.8 points per game. She was the team’s third leading scorer along with being fourth in assists (44) and fourth in steals (21). She shot 36.4 percent from 3-point range and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line.

She averaged 6.4 points in 76 career games.
