Culver-Stockton’s Davis named Heart men’s basketball Offensive Player of the Week

CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College junior forward Connor Davis recently was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference men’s basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Davis earned the honor for the second time this season by averaging 26.5 points in two games last week. Davis scored 24 points at Central Methodist before recording 29 points in the season finale at Missouri Valley. He also earned the honor on Feb. 3.

Davis shot 44.1 percent (15 of 34) from the field, including 54.5 percent (6 of 11) from beyond the 3-point mark.. He also drained all 17 of his free-throw attempts, including a 12-for-12 effort against Missouri Valley. Davis averaged three assists per game.

For the season, Davis won the league scoring title by averaging 20.5 points per game. He scored 574 total points, the 10th-highest single-season total in program history. Davis shot 43.3 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from the 3-point arc while connecting on 85.7 percent of his free throws. His 146 made free throws are the fourth-highest single-season total in program history.
