QUINCY — The early-season bye week meant it has been two weeks since the Quincy University football team last took the field, but the Hawks have used their time diligently to ensure the first Great Lakes Valley Conference road game isn’t a wasted trip.

Missouri S&T has won seven of the last eight meetings against Quincy and leads the all-time series 12-4.

Here’s what you need to know about the matchup:

Records: Quincy — 1-0 (1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference). Missouri S&T — 1-2 (0-0 GLVC).

When: 6 p.m. Saturday

Where: Allgood-Bailey Stadium, Rolla, Mo.

TV/Livestream: GLVC Sports Network

Radio: WGEM 105.1 FM

Previous meeting: Nov. 4, 2023 — Missouri S&T 21, Quincy 14. CJ Jarmon’s 30-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter doubled the Miners’ lead. Ike Wiley connected with Travis Isaac on a 60-yard touchdown pass play with 5:07 remaining in regulation, and the Hawks reached the Miners’ 15-yard line in the final minute. However, a turnover on downs ended the QU rally.

Scouting the Hawks: Quincy used its bye week to continue to stress the need for a balanced offensive attack, something the Hawks showcased in their GLVC opener against Lincoln (Mo.). Quincy rushed for 248 yards and quarterback Drake Davis threw for 267 yards in the 45-6 victory. Teon Dollard rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns, while Kareem Carswell had 112 yards rushing and one touchdown. The defense has allowed just 16 points in six quarters — the 10-point first half against Drake was wiped off because the game was ruled a no-contest due to weather — and should be one of the best units in the GLVC all season.

Scouting the Miners: Missouri S&T suffered lopsided losses at Wayne State (Neb.) and Delta State before beating Lincoln (Calif.) 45-6 last week in which the Miners allowed minus-12 yards rushing and 218 yards of total offense. Miners sophomore linebacker Seneca Bradley was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week after 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks against Lincoln. Tyler Giola is in his second season as the Miners’ starting quarterback and he has completed 37 of 78 passes for 417 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. AJ Harris has 264 yards rushing and three TDs on the ground.
