C-SC women allow fewest points in game to finish season at 14-14

CANTON, Mo. — The Culver-Stockton women’s basketball team allowed William Penn to a season-low 40 points and ended the 2021-22 season with a 54-40 victory Saturday afternoon in a Heart of America Athletic Conference game at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats, who end their season with at 14-14 record and an 8-11 record in the Heart, held the Statesmen to 25 percent (14-56) shooting from the field and forced 19 turnovers.

C-SC built a 15-7 lead after one quarter and narrowly led 23-22 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Wildcat defense limited the Statesmen to just four points and led 36-26 after three quarters.

Senior Taylor Green scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the hosts. Freshman Addison Newbon matched Taylor’s 14 points.
