CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College goalkeeper Mackenzie Frizzell has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her play in victories over William Penn University and Missouri Valley College last week.

Frizzell, a freshman from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, registered shutouts in two Heart of America Athletic Conference contests. Six of her eight total saves during the week came in Saturday’s 1-0 overtime victory over No. 17 Missouri Valley College, including a point-blank save with five minutes left in regulation to keep the game scoreless. Frizzell made two saves in a 3-0 victory over William Penn on Oct. 27.

Frizzell has appeared in four games, making three starts, for the Wildcats. She has made 13 total saves and recorded a 0.57 goal against average in 316 minutes, 24 seconds of game action.

The Wildcats are slated to play host to Baker in a Heart of America Athletic Conference quarterfinal game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
