CANTON, Mo. — One play set the tone.

After a poorly handled snap on a punt attempt by MidAmerica Nazarene on the first possession of Saturday’s game, the Culver-Stockton College football team immediately attacked. Quarterback Jase Orndorff connected with Freddy Edwards on a 29-yard touchdown toss on the first play of the drive.

Orndorff tossed four more TD passes in the first half as the Wildcats ran away with a 44-29 victory at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

The 22nd-ranked Wildcats (1-1) led 41-7 at halftime.

Orndorff tosses a 38-yard touchdown pass to Mason Hackmann, giving C-SC a 13-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. He connected with Tyler Danzey on a screen pass that turned into 33-yard scoring play, hit Bobby Ezzard with an 8-yard TD pass and capped the half with an 85-yard touchdown pass to Slayton Ochoa.

Demarion Cobb added a 5-yard scoring run in the middle of the passing frenzy.

Orndorff completed 19 of 35 passes for 356 yards with one interception. Ochoa caught four passes for 110, while Danzey rushed for 59 yards on 17 carries.
