Quincy Racquet Club to hold fundraiser for Quincy duo heading to pickleball nationals

QUINCY — Jules Gillam and Catelyn Steinmeyer are California dreamin’ and the Quincy Racquet Club is helping them find their way there.

Gillam and Steinmeyer won their division at the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, Fla., in April and qualified for the USA Pickleball National Championships at the Indian Wells Tennis Center in Palm Springs, Cal., in December.

To help with the costs, the Racquet Club will be holding a fundraising pickleball tournament November 13. The cost is $30 per player and teams will be split into three divisions.

Division 2.5-3.0 will have a maximum of eight teams, while the 3.5-4.0 and open divisions will have a maximum of 16 teams. For more information, contact event organizer Monica Hinkamper at 217-653-6400.
