QJHS eighth grade girls basketball team to play for sectional championship

CHATHAM, Ill. — The Quincy Junior High School eighth grade girls basketball team will play for an Illinois Elementary School Association Class 4A sectional championship Wednesday after winning a regional title last week.
The Comets defeated Rochester 48-17 in the regional final. QJHS won each of its three regional games by 17 or more points. The Comets will face Alton at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rochester Junior High School.
