Kroc Center to offer summer volleyball opportunities to area youth

Kroc Center

QUINCY — The Kroc Center is offering three different volleyball programs this summer for youth in grades 3-8.

The “Dig It” volleyball camp will kick off The Kroc Center’s summer sports and recreation programming June 6. Students in grades 3-8 are invited to join the Hannibal-LaGrange University volleyball team and coach Maliah Blakemore for a week-long camp filled with fun, exciting and memorable volleyball activities.

Jr. Spikers Learning Volleyball League is designed for youth in grades 3 and 4 to help introduce and improve both fundamentals and skills while also emphasizing fun, sportsmanship, hard work and character development. Players will be divided into teams. The league will consist of scheduled practices and games. Competitive balance will be sought while creating each team. In addition to players, The Kroc Center is seeking volunteer coaches for each team. The Jr. Spikers Learning Volleyball League will meet Tuesdays June 14 through August 9.

Grades 5-6 and 7-8 are invited to play in the Jr. Spikers Volleyball League on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 13.

For dates and times for each league, please visit KrocQuincy.org. The league will follow IHSA girls’ volleyball rules. All teams will be provided with uniforms for up to eight players and one coach. This league is team sign-up only, and volunteer coaches are needed.
