Wildcats’ Perrine, Robinson earn Heart’s weekly offensive and defensive honors

CANTON, Mo. — The way in which the Culver-Stockton College football team is piling up victories is making the rest of the Heart of America Athletic Conference take notice.

For the second week in a row, the Wildcats received the league’s Defensive Player of the Week honor. They added the Offensive Player of the Week to the fold, too.

Junior wide receiver Connor Perrine and senior linebacker Pat Robinson received the Heart honors after the Wildcats beat Missouri Valley College 52-28 last Saturday at Gregg-Mitchell Field in Marshall, Mo.

Perrine hauled in five receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He scored on 48 and 82-yard pass plays. Overall, through four games, he leads the Wildcats with 20 receptions for 368 yards and six touchdowns, which has him tied for second in the NAIA in total receiving touchdowns.

Robinson recorded six tackles, two sacks, two force fumbles and one pass breakup. One of his two forced fumbles led to a C-SC touchdown. Overall, Robinson has 15 total tackles, 11 solo tackles, three sacks and five forced fumbles. He leads the nation in forced fumbles.

Last week, senior linebacker Dalton Huffman was the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

The Wildcats are 3-1 and will play host to Central Methodist, also 3-1, at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
