At Porter Stadium, Hannibal, Mo.

Hannibal 62, Fulton 13: Markahl Humphrey returned the opening kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown and the rout was on. The Pirates led 34-0 at the end of the first quarter and rolled in the North Central Missouri Conference opener. Hannibal, ranked fourth in Class 4, improves to 4-0 ahead of next week’s matchup with Mexico.

At Camp Point, Ill.

Brown County 22, Central 20: Brody Woodward scored on a 36-yard run to push the Hornets, ranked second in Class 1A, to a 22-8 lead in the third quarter. However, the Panthers rallied and Garret Williams’ 74-yard touchdown run pulled them within two points. Central, ranked sixth in Class 1A, failed to convert on the two-point try, allowing Brown County to stay undefeated and in control of the Western Illinois Valley Conference North Division.

At Glenn Smith Field, Pittsfield, Ill.

Maroa-Forsyth 70, Pittsfield 0: The third-ranked Trojans dominated the Sangamo Conference matchup.

At Winchester, Ill.

West Central 48, Pleasant Hill 8: The Cougars, ranked ninth in Class 1A, got more than 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns from both Ryan Moore and Lathan Barnett to remain undefeated.

At Centralia, Mo.

Monroe City 44, Centralia 6: Ranked No. 2 in Class 1, Monroe City geared up for next week’s Mayor’s Cup with another dominant defensive effort.

At Palmyra, Mo.

Palmyra 23, Brookfield 6: An old-fashioned slugfest ended with the Panthers responding to the Bulldogs’ fourth-quarter touchdown by scoring just 27 seconds later on Nolyn Richards’ 1-yard TD run and putting away the Clarence Cannon Conference victory. 

At Ewing, Mo.

Macon 32, Highland 30: The Tigers scored 12 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to grab the Clarence Cannon Conference victory one day after their head coach resigned.

At Center, Mo.

Mark Twain 56, Missouri Military Academy 6: Lakoda Preston returned a punt for a touchdown — his fourth return for a score this season — as part of an overwhelming first quarter for the Tigers, who remain undefeated ahead of next week’s matchup with Bowling Green.

At Lick Creek Golf Course, Pekin, Ill.

Pekin Tournament: Quincy High School posted a 316 on the first day of the 36-hole event. Luke Chevalier shot a 76 to lead the Blue Devils.

Girls Volleyball

At Mount Pulaski, Ill.

Mount Pulaski Tournament: Unity picked up two victories in pool play, beating Maroa-Forsyth 25-21, 25-22 and Fulton 25-16, 25-22 as Mustangs coach Seth Klusmeyer picked up his 400th career victory.

Men’s Soccer

At Legends Stadium, Quincy

Quincy University 2, Lindenwood 1: The Hawks responded to allowing a goal less than 90 seconds into the game by scoring twice in the first half and not conceding the lead. Macker Little scored off a Spencer Van Nest assist in the 26th minute, and Alsadiq Hasan scored the game-winner in the 43rd minute off assists from Jack Rhead and Keegan Klingele.

At Legends Stadium, Quincy

Lindenwood 1, Quincy University 0: After scoring five goals in the second half of last Sunday’s victory, the Hawks were limited to four shots on goal in the Great Lakes Valley Conference loss.
