Hannibal boys, girls track teams advance in 14 events to next week’s Class 4 sectional meet
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Hannibal boys track team is sending nine qualifiers to next week’s sectional track meet, and the girls are sending five after Saturday’s Class 4 district meet at Jefferson City Helias High School.
Kade Hoskins was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.09 seconds. Tre Hoskins finished second in the shot put at 16.75 meters. The 4×100-meter relay team was second in 42.49 seconds, and the 4×200-meter relay team was second in 1:29.59.
Landyn Essig was third in the long jump at 6.4 meters, and Aden Scott was third in the discus at 45.27 meters. Cameron Davis was fourth in 110-meter hurdles in 15.64 seconds, Houston Morrison was fourth in the discus at 43.98 meters, and Nick Thomas was fourth in the shot put at 14.57 meters.
Riyenn Brown had the best finish for the Hannibal girls, placing second in the 100-meter hurdles in 16:25 seconds. Teammate Kaliyah Chinn was third in 16.41 seconds.
Kyndall Stewart was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12:55 seconds, Joely Greenwell was fourth in the long jump at 4.79 meters, and the 4×100 meter relay team was fourth in 50.37 seconds.
