Photo Gallery: South Shelby, Palmyra boys golf teams qualify for state tournament

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The South Shelby and Palmyra boys golf teams each posted scores of 328 at Monday’s Class 2 District 2 tournament at Norwoods Golf Club to qualify for the state tournament, which will take place May 19 and 20 at Sedalia Country Club.

Noah Wilt, Carson Gough, Eli Hatcher, and Titus Moore each posted 10-over 82s, good for 13th individually, for South Shelby. Colt Schmitz shot an 84 and will join those four in Sedalia.

For Palmyra, senior Jonas Janes finished tied for fourth with a 6-over 78, and junior Abram Getz finished eighth with a 79. Skeeter Kroeger and Anthony White, who shot an 85 and 86, respectively, will round out Palmyra’s state foursome.

South Callaway freshman Elijah Hutchison earned individual medalist honors with a 2-over 74, one shot ahead of Duchesne’s Eric Greifzu. Monroe City junior Cole Hays shot an 82 to qualify as an individual. Monroe City finished sixth, 16 shots back of Palmyra and South Shelby. Highland finished 13th in the 17-team field.
