Puterbaugh, Hull combine for six hits, eight RBIs as Pittsfield scores at least 10 runs for 13th time

PAYSON, Ill. — Pittsfield’s Draven Puterbaugh and Tim Hull combined for six hits and eight RBIs, and four Saukees had three hits in a 15-6 victory over Payson Seymour on Thursday.

Hull and Puterbaugh drove in the Saukees’ first three runs with two-out singles as part of a five-run top of the first inning.

Hayden Gratton had one of his three hits on an RBI single in the second. Pittsfield added three runs on consecutive singles by Hull, Lane Foster and Puterbaugh with two outs in the fourth, making the score 9-2.

The Indians drew within five runs twice, but Hull and Puterbaugh capped their performances with a one-run and two-run double, respectively, in the top of the seventh.

Pittsfield (17-8) had 16 hits and eclipsed 10 runs for the 13th time this season. Puterbaugh, Hull, Gratton, and Foster all went 3 for 4, and Puterbaugh and Hull each had four RBIs. Nolan Sparks was the only player with two hits for the Indians (9-12).
