Golden K Kiwanis to hold miniature golf fundraiser tournament May 25-31
QUINCY — The Golden K Kiwanis Club will be hold its first miniature golf course tournament in Quincy from May 25-31.
To enter, get two twosomes to play at the same time on whatever day works for those participants. Tournament play will be open during any of the regular summer hours the Batting Cage and its miniature course is open — Sunday noon to 10 p.m. and Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Special blue tournament scorecards will be available at the Batting Cage. Ask the attendant for one, pay the $60 per twosome team cost (cash or checks only), fill out the two twosomes scorecard with players’ names and phone numbers, get a putter and a ball and start play. Return the scorecard to the attendant when finished. You can play with anyone who can play miniature golf.
Proceeds from the tournament will help fund youth programs and charities in the area supported by Golden K Kiwanis. Bella Ease Teen Reach, Sewessentials Classes for Kids and Chaddock Children’s Foundation are a few examples. Participants also can nominate their favorite Quincy area children’s charity for the grand prize of $500 to be given away with a tournament-end drawing at the end of the play on Saturday.
The first-place twosome team prize is $120, with second place receiving $60. There will also be a closest to the pin contest on a selected hole.
Golfers can use the blue tournament scorecard to get a free hot dog, hamburger or cheeseburger and a soda of choice from the Batting Cage.
Winners will be determined at the end of tournament play and contacted by phone using the number provided on the scorecard. In the case of ties, winners will be determined by backward scores starting with No. 18.
