C-SC’s Davis, three women’s basketball players earn all-conference postseason honors
CANTON, Mo. — Culver-Stockton College junior Connor Davis earned All-Heart of America Athletic Conference first-team honors in men’s basketball, while three members of the C-SC women’s basketball players also received all-conference honors.
C-SC guard Avery Oetting and forward and Katie Webb were second-team selections, while guard Misora Nambara was a third-team pick.
Davis, a junior from Sycamore, Ill., led the conference in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game. He scored 574 total points, the 10th-highest single-season total in program history. Davis shot 43.3 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from the 3-point arc while connecting on 85.7 percent of his free-throw attempts.
Davis made 146 free throws this season, the fourth highest single season total in school history. He was honored twice this season as the Heart’s Offensive Player of the Week. Davis, a transfer from Quincy University, also averaged 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds in a game at Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Nov. 9.
Oetting, a junior from Hallsville, Mo., averaged a team-best 14.7 points per game, which was tied for 10th in the Heart. She shot 39.9 percent from the field but was at 36.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, which was 10th in the league. Oetting was third in the Heart in free-throw shooting, connecting on 84.5 percent (82 of 97) of her attempts.
Oetting also grabbed 5.2 rebounds, dished out 2.9 assists and led the league with 2.7 steals per game. Oetting registered a conference-best 76 steals during the regular season.
Webb, a senior from Benton, Mo., averaged 12.7 points and 6.2 rebounds while starting all 29 games this season. Webb led the Heart in 3-point shooting, connecting on 45.2 percent (33 of 73) of her attempts, and she was 10th in field-goal shooting at 48.7 percent (135 of 277).
Nambara, a freshman from Battlefield, Mo., started all 29 games, averaging 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and a team-high 3.9 assists per game, which was sixth in the conference. She shot 42.2 percent (136 of 322) from the field and 85.7 percent (48 of 56) from the foul line.
