QUINCY — It is more than a pleasure for Pam Williams, owner of the Tangerine Bowl, to announce an event like Quincy has never seen.
On Sunday, May 4, Williams will be bringing six world class professional bowlers to Quincy for a teaching clinic and pro-am tournament. The clinic, organized by USBC Hall of Fame bowler Sean Rash, will be conducted in the morning, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, Rash and his friends will conduct a pro-am where local bowlers can bowl with the PBA professionals.
The morning clinic will be limited to 60 bowlers. The pros will work with a group of 10 bowlers at a time for approximately 30 minutes, then will rotate to another group of lanes so that attendees will get the chance to work with multiple pros. There will also be time for a Q&A session and pictures and autographs with the pros before the lunch break.
The pro-am will be limited to 84 bowlers, who will bowl with the pros, rotating lanes after each of three games, allowing local amateur bowlers the opportunity to bowl with multiple pros.
In lieu of a cash prize structure, the pros will be giving away autographed jerseys and balls throughout the day to attendees.
About The Bowlers:
Sean Rash has won over 17 Professional Bowling Association (PBA) titles and was named Player of the Year for the 2011-2012 season.
Coming with Rash will be two-handed sensation David “Boog” Krol with three regional titles and two national titles including winning the 2024 PBA Playoffs.
Anthony Simonsen, the youngest player ever to win a PBA masters tournament, will also be on hand. “Simo” currently is the youngest bowler ever to hold five PBA tour titles and in 2022 eclipsed the $1 million earnings mark.
Rounding out the men for this event will be none other than EJ Tackett, currently regarded as the #1 bowler in the world with 23 PBA Tour titles and one of only nine bowlers ever to win the PBA Triple Crown. Tackett is also a three-time PBA Player of the Year and two-time Gold medal Olympian and most recently won the US Open, for a second time, on Feb. 2 of this year.
Rash will also be bringing two female PWBA bowlers for the event.
Stephanie Zavala is an international bowler who won the 2022 PWBA Tour Championship as well as five PWBA Tour events.
The final pro is Danielle McEwan who has won nine PWBA titles (two Majors) including the 2019 PWBA Tour Championship and the 2019 US Women’s Open. She is also a two-time winner of the World Bowling Tour (WBT) Women’s Finals.
Together these six bowlers have captured 72 PBA Tour wins, 15 Majors, and 40 PBA Regional wins. Additionally, four of these Pros are also multi-year Team USA Olympic bowlers.
