PALM COAST, Fla. — Luke Guthrie has regained status.

Now, he takes aim at regaining his PGA Tour card.

The Quincy native earned individual medalist at one of four Korn Ferry Q-School second stage tournaments, posting a 12-under 276 total at The Conservatory at Hammock Beach to earn a spot in the final stage of Q-School and a spot on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025.

Guthrie’s victory gives him full status on the Korn Ferry Tour through the second reshuffle, which means he is guaranteed eight starts. He can improve his standing with his performance at the final stage, which takes place Dec. 12-15 on the Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass.

The top five finishers in the final stage earn PGA Tour cards for 2025, while the next 25 golfers earn Korn Ferry status through the third reshuffle and are guaranteed 12 starts. Guthrie, who turned pro in 2012, has not had full status on any tour since 2020.

So there’s plenty still to play for.

Already, Guthrie finds himself back in the game.

The Quincy High School Hall of Famer shot three rounds in the 60s — one of only two in the 75-player field to do so — and closed his four-round effort with an exclamation point. Guthrie reached 11-under after a birdie on the par-5 10th hole, but he gave the stroke back with a bogey on the par-4 11th.

However, he birdied both the par-3 17th and par-5 18th to get to 12-under and give himself a three-stroke cushion going into the clubhouse. No one behind him could make up more than one stroke and Guthrie finished with a two-stroke advantage.
