Burry finished tied for eighth at the Class 3A state tournament, shooting a 4-over 148, while helping the Blue Devils finish third in the team standings.

Burry played four years of college golf at Illinois State University, earning All-Missouri Valley Conference honors as a junior and a senior. As a senior in 2017-18, finished with a 72.9 stroke average and four top-five finishes in 12 events, including a tie for second place at the Missouri Tiger Invitational. As a junior, he finished third at the MVC Championships. As a sophomore, he won the Hoosier Invitational.

Burry won a Pepsi Little People’s Golf Championships title in 2013 and the Quincy Men’s City Golf Championship in 2016.
