QND’s Boudreau goes low in final round, climbs into tie for 11th at Class 1A state golf tournament
DECATUR, Ill. — Isabelle Boudreau attacked the Red Tail Run Golf Course on Saturday and ended her season with a flourish.
The Quincy Notre Dame junior posted the third lowest score in the 89-player field and vaulted herself into an 11th place finish at the Class 1A state tournament. Boudreau shot a 2-over 74, an eight-stroke improvement over Friday that left her tied for 11th with Mt. Carmel’s Ava Brumagin at 156.
Mt. Carmel’s Zeme Moore won the individual state championship with an even-par 144 and the Golden Aces won the team title with a 604 — 48 strokes ahead of Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.
Boudreau opened the second round on the back nine and began with a birdie on the par-4 10th. She closed a 2-over 38 with a birdie on the par-5 18th before playing the front nine in even-par 36. She made birdie on three of her final six holes, including the par-4 ninth.
QND senior Meredith Eversman finished tied for 64th with a 185.
