KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Playing against her hometown team brings out the best in Lia Quintero.

A sophomore forward on the Truman State University women’s soccer team, Quintero scored two goals Sunday in the Bulldogs’ 3-0 victory over Quincy University in Great Lakes Vally Conference play at Stokes Stadium.

Monday, the Quincy Notre Dame graduate was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week for her exploits, which included scoring the game-winning goal in the 23rd minute.

Quintero leads the Bulldogs (3-3-3, 2-2-2 GLVC) with four goals overall and two game-winning goals. In career, she has scored six goals — three against the Hawks with the game-winning goal in both meetings.
