HAMILTON, Ill. — The youthful Illini West boys golf team showed age doesn’t matter as a pair of freshmen finished in the top four individually — senior Nick Bruns was sandwiched in between — in guiding the Chargers to the Class 1A Hamilton Regional championship with a 325 team total at Deer Run Golf Course.
Quincy Notre Dame finished second at 339 and West Hancock was third at 358 as the top three teams advance to Monday’s sectional at Quincy’s Spring Lake Country Club.
