Eftink, Raiders gear up for regionals by winning final tournament of regular season

GALESBURG, Ill. — Beau Eftink is in championship mode. His teammates are too.

With the Class 1A boys golf postseason set to begin Tuesday, the Quincy Notre Dame junior carries the momentum of back-to-back tournament championships with him after completing a weekend sweep Saturday in the Galesburg INvitational at Bunker Links Golf Course.

Eftink won the individual title by shooting a 3-under 69 while the Raiders captured the team title with a 309. QND’s Olliver Hendrian took fourth with a 75, Quincy High School’s Ty Novosel and Peoria Notre Dame’s Jack Coulter tied for second with 74s.

Peoria Notre Dame was second with a 319, while QHS and Macomb tied for third at 322. Nicholas Parkins led the Bombers with a 78.

Eftink also won individual medalist honors Friday during the Normal U-High Invitational, shooting a 74 at Weibring Golf Course. The Raiders were sixth in the 18-team event with a 329.
