Raiders beat Bombers in Ryder Cup match
COLCHESTER, Ill. — The Quincy Notre Dame girls golf team beat Macomb in a Ryder Cup match at Gold Hills Golf Club, posting a 114 team score. The Bombers posted a 137 as the teams played three holes of best ball, three holes of alternate shot and three holes of best score.
QND’s team of Belle Boudreau and Natalie Druffel shot a 33, while Meredith Eversman and Nancy Scholz posted a 36. Caroline Knuffman and Sam Reeder shot a 45. For Macomb, Brenlee Tibbitts and Sophie Wilson shot a 43, Muller Butcher and Elise Sullivan posted a 46 and Maris McKee and Ava Clayton shot a 48.
Chargers rally for three-set victory
CARTHAGE, Ill. — The Illini West volleyball team rallied for a 16-15, 25-19, 25-18 victory over Triopia to improve to 10-2 overall. Reagan Reed led the Chargers with nine kills, nine assists and nine digs, while Kate DeSotel had seven service points, 14 digs and two aces. Corin Robinson dished out 18 assists.
Suns roll, make record perfect 10-0
AUGUSTA, Ill. — The Southeastern volleyball team improved to 10-0 with a 25-16, 25-17 victory over Lewistown. Amanda Stephens finished with 13 kills and three acs, while Kenzie Griswold had eight kills, Kara Stephens had 16 assists and Savannah Ramsey had 16 digs.
Barry carries Mustangs to sweep
MENDON, Ill. — Despite playing without two starters, the Mendon Unity volleyball team beat Beardstown 25-11, 25-19 to improve to 7-4. Saylor Barry finished with 15 service points, 16 digs, nine kills and two aces. Jillian Shaffer had 24 assists, and Morgan Arnsman had 11 kills.
Raiders dominate singles in sweeping Explorers
QUINCY — The Quincy Notre Dame girls tennis team swept a dual from Alton Marquette, winning 9-0 at Reservoir Park. Alyssa Ley at No. 1 singles and Anna Robb at No. 6 won tiebreakers, while the Raiders won the other four singles in straight sets.
Wildcats earn first Heart victory
LAMONI, Iowa — Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez scored a pair of goals and the Culver-Stockton College women’s soccer team picked up a 3-0 victory over Graceland in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Maggie Tuxhorn scored in the 40th minute to give C-SC a 1-0 lead, and Chandler-Gutierrez scored in the 59th and 66th minutes. The Wildcats are 6-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Heart.
C-SC men suffer another loss
LAMONI, Iowa — The Graceland men’s soccer team stayed undefeated with a 3-1 victory over Culver-Stockton College in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Ruben Reinertsen scored in the 43rd minute for C-SC, tying the game at 1 at halftime. The Wildcats are 0-5-2 overall and 0-2 in the Heart.
