Chargers win Pittsfield Invitational

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — The Illini West boys golf team won the Pittsfield Invitational on Saturday by shooting a 325 at Old Orchard Country Club. Pittsfield took second with a 327. Rushville-Industry was third at 332.

Chargers senior Nick Bruns finished second individually with a 76, while freshman Bryson Grotts took sixth with an 81 and freshman Nolan Murphy was seventh with an 82. Saukees sophomore Isaac McGlauchlen won individual medalist honors with a 73, while Zeke Castleberry shot an 81.

Raiders second in quadrangular

MACOMB, Ill. — The Quincy Notre Dame boys golf team posted three of the top seven individual scores to finish second in a quadrangular Saturday at Macomb Country Club. Jacksonville won with a 315, followed by QND at 322, Macomb at 338 and Quincy High School at 348.

Jacksonville’s A.J. Charpentier took individual medalist honors with a 74. QND’s Olliver Hendrian posted a 76, Grant Lepper shot a 77 and Aiden Tangy carded a 79. QHS’s Ty Novosel shot a 77 and Hunter St. Clair finished with a 78. Brady Scalf led Macomb with an 81.

Wildcats fall in season opener

CANTON, Mo. — The Culver-Stockton College women’s volleyball team suffered a four-set loss in its season opener at Charles Field House, falling 25-19, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23 to Waldorf. Zoe Irvin led the Wildcats with 13 kills, while Lauren Bloom had 35 assists and Kyle Ellis had 14 digs.
