Hawks’ Williams posts 10 double-doubles in league play, earns second-team All-GLVC
QUINCY — Cymirah Williams’ ability to score, rebound and defend made her one of the more problematic matchup problems in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The numbers prove it.
Williams averaged 15.1 points and 10.1 rebounds in conference play, finishing as the league’s third leading rebounder and earning second-team All-GLVC honors as voted on by the league’s coaches. She had 10 double-doubles in league play and 11 overall.
The 5-foot-11 junior forward averaged 14.4 points and 9.6 rebounds overall, leading the Hawks in both categories, while snaring a team-leadng 47 steals to go with 19 blocked shots. QU finished its season with a 10-18 record and a 9-13 mark in the GLVC.
Mariann Blass, the 5-9 freshman guard, averaged 9.2 points and made a team-leading 36 3-pointers and was named to the GLVC All-Freshman team.
Senior Kealani Neves was named QU’s recipient for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
