Editor’s Note: Quincy High School will hold its Hall of Fame induction ceremony at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday between games of the 52nd QHS Thanksgiving Tournament at Blue Devil Gym. Below is the biography used by the QHS Hall of Fame committee to honor one of this year’s inductees.

QUINCY — Tony Carnivale is in select company. The 1991 Quincy High School graduate is one of only two boys golfers in school history to earn a medal at the state tournament three times during his high school career.

The other is professional golfer Luke Guthrie.

Carnival finished fourth at the Class AA state tournament in 1988, shooting a 151. He was the only QHS golfer to qualify for state after finishing fourth at sectionals when he chipped in for birdie on the fourth playoff hole. He also earned All-Western Big 6 Conference honors that season.

As a junior, Carnival finished third at the Class AA state tournament in 1989, shooting a 150. The Blue Devils finished second as a team, one of six QHS golf teams in program history to finish as state runner-up. Prior to that, Carnivale shot a 1-over 73 to earn medalist honors at the sectional and was an All-WB6 selection.

As a senior, Carnival finished 12th at the Class AA state tournament in 1990, shooting a 155. He helped the Blue Devils win the Class AA state championship.

He was second at the Class AA regional, finishing with Quincy’s lowest score as the Blue Devils won the team title. He earned All-WB6 honors for a third.

He went on to play at the University of Missouri and was a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers.

After briefly considering playing on the professional mini-tours, Carnival chose to enter the workforce and put his degree in finance and banking to use. He later transitioned to healthcare consulting and currently works as an associate director for Impact Advisors.

Carnvivale and his wife, Sarah, have an 8-year old son, Carter, and live in The Woodlands, Texas, where he plays recreational golf and focuses on his son’s football, baseball and golf activities.
