Quincy Shootout: SLUH’s Kramer finds range, rhythm in second half
QUINCY — St. Louis University High and Math, Civics and Sciences Charter out of Philadelphia played to nearly a draw in the first half, with the Jr. Billikens taking a 28-25 lead at halftime of their matchup in the Quincy Shootout at the Pit on Friday night.
Then Nick Kramer took over.
The senior guard scored 10 points in the third quarter, then finished with four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to score 32 points as SLUH pulled away for a 73-52 victory.
Kramer scored just 10 points in the first half. The Mighty Elephants tied the score with a 3-pointer by Trent Middleton to open the third quarter, but the Jr. Billikens went on a 20-9 run to take command. Kramer and Aaron Walker Jr. combined for 17 points in the quarter.
Kramer, who has signed to play next year at Saint Louis University, then helped the Jr. Billikens outscore the Mighty Elephants 25-15 over the final eight minutes.
Middleton had 16 for Math, Civics and Sciences Charter. Walker scored 21 for the Jr. Billikens.
