The fourth Quincy Shootout takes place this weekend with games being played Friday night at Quincy High School’s Blue Devil Gym and Quincy Notre Dame’s The Pit. Saturday, all eight games will be played at Blue Devil Gym.

Here is a look at the teams and top players who will be worth the price of admission:

Berkmar High School — Lilburn, Ga.

The Patriots came into 2022 as one of the top 10 public school teams nationally after finishing as the runners up at the 38th Arby’s Classic in Bristol, Tenn., during the Christmas break. Berkmar, which won eight of its first 11 games this season, lost to Long Island Lutheran in the championship. Senior center Malique Ewin has signed with Ole Miss and is considered a top-100 recruit nationally, while Jermahri Hill, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, has an offer from Virginia Tech and is drawing interest from Georgia and Georgia Tech. Point Jameel Rideout holds an offer from Charleston Southern and is drawing interest from several NCAA Division I schools in the south.

The Burlington School — Burlington, N.C.

The Spartans travel to Quincy with some momentum on their side. They won the John Wall Holiday Tournament, were on a seven-game win streak and had compiled a 20-3 record with a No. 19 ranking in the MaxPreps Top 25. Junior forward Michael Nwoko, who is 6-foot-10, is drawing interest from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Houston and others. Another junior — 6-foot-8 forward Avion Pinner — has SEC schools like LSU and Texas A&M looking at him. Kheni Briggs, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, has committed to Charleston Southern.

Cardinal Ritter High School — St. Louis

The Lions’ loaded schedule has them sitting at 8-8 less than two weeks into January, but they will be a state championship contender come March. The Cadets bring arguably the most recognizable player to the Shootout in 7-foot-2 sophomore center John Bol, who already has offers from Illinois, Missouri and Kansas State. Bol, who is originally from South Sudan, is the tallest player to ever participate in the Shootout, and he is averaging 12 points and nine rebounds per game. Robert Martin, a 5-foot-10 point guard, is averaging a team-leading 16.4 points per game, while Larry Hughes Jr., a 6-foot-4 shooting and the son of former first-round NBA draft pick Larry Hughes, is receiving interest from schools like Butler, Kansas State and Wisconsin.

Much of the recruiting chatter coming out of Hamilton Heights has been about Somto Cyril and understandably so. He is 6-foot-11, athletic and strong. But don’t sleep on the backcourt, specifically the Andrews brothers. Junior point guard Camden Andrews is the ultimate playmaker, averaging more than seven assists per game. Sophomore shooting guard Bryson Andrews is a 3-point threat, tying the record for 3-pointers made in the Lighthouse Classic in Cornith, Miss. Jordann Dumont, a 6-foot-8 junior swingman, recently picked up his first DIvision I scholarship offer,
