QUINCY — No matter the format nor the foes, Zach Willing and Ethan Arns remain unbeatable.

Another Quincy Tennis Association city doubles championship is proof of that.

Willing, a Quincy High School graduate who will be a senior on the Quincy University men’s tennis team, and Arns, a Quincy Notre Dame graduate who is the QU tennis head coach, repeated as city champions last weekend, winning five matches in the men’s open division.

It also is the second significant doubles title of the summer for the duo as they won the championship at the Alton Open.

Sunday’s championship match pitted the reigning champions against familiar opponents — Willing’s father, Todd, and QND graduate Marko Cucuk, who will be a freshman on the QU tennis team. Willing and Arns won 6-1, 6-2 and finished the tournament without losing a set.

In the women’s open division, Heidi Holzgrafe and Theresa Quintero swept a pair of matches to win the championship, beating Paige Beckler and Emily Klinner 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals and dispatching Cindy Crist and Mindee Miller 6-2, 6-0 in the finals.

Other champions included Michael Wood and Tyler Wood in the men’s 3.5 division, Barney Bier and Rob Hernandez in the men’s 4.0 division, Lydia Miller and Aly Young in the women’s 3.5 division and Tim O’Neal and Mike O’Neal in the men’s legends 65 division.

In the junior 14-and-under division, Drake Dodd and Alex Hamby won the title, while in the junior 12-and-under division, Riley Beckler and Dax Klusmeyer were the champions.
