QUINCY — One scored early and often, the other rallied late. Now, they’ll go head-to-head for a sectional championship.
The Auburn softball team scored 11 runs in the first inning and beat Macomb 16-0 in the first semifinal Tuesday in the Class 2A QND Sectional at The Backyard. Quincy Notre Dame followed by scoring four times in the top of the seventh to upend Stanford Olympia in the other semifinal.
QND and Auburn will meet at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the sectional title game at The Backyard.
