QUINCY — A coach with ties to the Great Lakes Valley Conference will join new head coach Courtney Boyd on the Quincy University women’s basketball team’s sideline next season.

Brooke Bailey will be Boyd’s top assistant, having agreed to join the QU staff after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Hillsdale College, a Great Midwest Athletic Conference school which beat Quincy 66-55 in the Midwest Regional Crossover last winter.

Bailey is a 2019 graduate of Truman State University, where she was a three-year starter for the Bulldogs and a two-time team captain. A native of Dixon, Ill., Bailey played one season of professional basketball in Edinbugh, Scotland.

“Brooke is exactly what the women’s basketball program needs to continue to rise,” Boyd said in a press release. “With her growing up in the state of Illinois, that will only strengthen our recruiting footprint. Her playing experience, knowledge of the game and desire to win will be a large asset to the future of this program.”
