Photo gallery: QU men’s lacrosse team puts together second-half scoring outburst in victory
QUINCY — The Quincy University men’s lacrosse team scored seven goals in the third quarter Monday, erasing a one-goal halftime deficit and propelling itself to a 13-8 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo at QU Stadium.
Quincy scored three times in the first 90 seconds of the third quarter. Neal Dardis tied the game at 5 off a pass from Ty Gillitzer. Christian Czarny gave the Hawks the lead off a feed from John Jennings. Jayme Brain capped the spurt with an unassisted goal at the 9:54 mark of the third quarter. QU added four more goals within a 3-minute span late in the quarter.
Brain scored three goals and had two assists, giving him 38 points on the season to set a new single-season record. The Hawks are 7-4 with six regular-season games remaining.
