C-SC women’s soccer program receives votes in national poll for first time ever
CANTON, Mo. — For the first time in program history, the Culver-Stockton College women’s soccer team is receiving a little national attention.
The Wildcats are receiving votes in the latest NAIA women’s soccer coaches’ top 25, which was released Wednesday. C-SC garnered six points and was one of 13 schools outside of the top 25 to receive votes.
“Blessed to get a little recognition but these players deserve it. Hunger has to stay,” C-SC coach Tyler Tomlinson tweeted.
C-SC finished the regular season on a three-game win streak and punctuated it with a 1-0 overtime victory against then-No. 17 Missouri Valley College. The Wildcats went 13-4-1 overall and 8-3-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. They tied the 2003 team for the most victories in program history.
The Wildcats are the No. 4 seed for the Heart Tournament and will play host to Baker at 6 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinals at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
