Quincy’s Stewart named Prospect League Slugger of the Week
The Prospect League announced on Wednesday that Quincy’s Zack Stewart was the Week 5 Slugger of the Week.
Stewart, a native of Lebanon, Mo., will be attending Missouri State University in the fall. He had 27 at-bats in last week, hitting .519, collecting 14 hits and driving in 12 runs. He had a .740 slugging percentage and a .594 on-base percentage.
Stewart is hitting .324 with a team-high 26 RBIs, and he’s tied for the team lead with four home runs. He also leads the team with 34 hits and eight doubles.
The Pitcher of the Week was Colby Downard of the Danville Dans, who struck out 12 and didn’t allow an earned run over 9 1/3 innings.
